The European Parliament on Thursday ratified the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) with Kosovo.

European Parliament ratifies SAA with Kosovo

EP rapporteur for Kosovo Ulrike Lunacek said that the SAA "should come into effect immediately, which would be a very positive signal for the citizens and for commerce in Kosovo," the agency quoted an EP statement.

Kosovo and the EU signed the SAA on October 27, while the Kosovo Assembly ratified it on November 2, 2015.

Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga and Assembly President Kadri Veseli said the ratification was "an important signal for Kosovo's admission into the EU and a great political victory for Kosovo."
