FM in Montenegro: Brotherly peoples, sisterly states

"Our mission in Montenegro indicated that there has been a number of realized joint projects, and this is precisely the essence of the existence of the OSCE mission. I am pleased to note that we will give full support to Montenegro for what it has done so far, as well as what remains to be done," he said.

Serbia, Dacic recalled, has set Western Balkans as a priority of its presidency.

"This means regional cooperation between countries, so I would thank Montenegro for signing a declaration of the International Commission on Missing Persons," Dacic said.

The Serbian minister was on an official visit to Montenegro in his OSCE capacity, and he and Luksic also agreed that relations between Serbia and Montenegro are "relaxed," the Montenegrin public broadcaster RTCG said.

After talking to OSCE representatives in Montenegro and with Luksic, Dacic said he was "satisfied with the cooperation."

Luksic for his part "expressed his satisfaction over the fact Serbia chairs the OSCE, and with the cooperation with this organization."

"Today we talked about the topics that concern the Serbian chairmanship of the OSCE. Montenegro will provide full support to the Serbian presidency of this organization. This presidency came at a time that is not very easy. There are many challenges in Europe, both in the east and in the southern block, and in this context, I believe that the priorities of the Serbian presidency will be successfully realized. I expressed my satisfaction with the cooperation with the OSCE mission to Montenegro," Luksic said.

He also "took the opportunity to welcome the resumption of the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština."

"I want to emphasize our support for the outcome of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina. We believe that this is a step forward when it comes to the solving of problems, in order to take into account the ambition of this region to achieve all European standards as soon as possible. Our expectation is that Serbia will as soon as possible begin opening (EU membership) negotiation chapters," said Luksic.

Dacic said he was also satisfied with bilateral relations between Montenegro and Serbia, and added:

"It has always said that we are brotherly peoples, and perhaps we are sisterly too, considering that the names of the countries are in the feminine gender. It is my pleasure that in the last few years relations between Serbia and Montenegro have been completely relaxed. We wish all the best to Montenegro, that it joins the EU as soon as possible. We wish the same to ourselves."

While in Podgorica, Dacic also met with President Filip Vujanovic, Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic, and other officials.
