Austrian President Heinz Fischer hs said that Austria supports Serbia "on its European path" and will advocate for a speedy start to its EU accession talks. In an interview with the Frankfurt-based Serbian language newspaper Vesti, Fisher said that the direction of Serbia's European integration was positive, that good progress had been made on the road and that Austria's policy remained unchanged, "and aimed at making the negotiations that were underway successful".
