Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) leader Cedomir Jovanovic says his party wants to join the new government but only if the state policy is completely changed. He added that LDP’s goal was a modern and democratic Serbia and free citizens. LDP to be part of government “on one condition” “We need to bring some common sense into the policy toward Kosovo, it is an axiom that Kosovo is independent from Serbia. We need to sit down at the table with (Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim) Thaci as soon as possible,” Jovanovic said at LDP Main Board meeting on Saturday. He added that the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 “must become history” if anyone wanted LDP to join the government after the elections. The LDP leader pointed out that his party wanted to help the Democratic Party (DS) and Serbian President Boris Tadic but only if they agreed to change their policy. “Tadic will be our leader until the last day of his mandate and he will be safer with us having his back than those he is with today,” Jovanovic concluded.
