President of the Serbian Renewal Movement’s (SPO) Kosovo Council, Randjel Nojkic, said that it is “not true” that Serbs in Kosovo have regained phone services. “The statement that a majority of communities in which Serbs live in Kosovo have mobile phone service has worried and surprised many people here,” he said. Still no phone service in Kosovo Nojkic said that “based on the situation on the field, and the fact that the equipment of the mobile phone services has been removed and taken away, it would be impossible for something like that to happen in such a short period of time.” He said that at this moment, it is most important for Serbs in Kosovo to be told the truth about what the situation is and what is being done to find a solution. “The state has this responsibility, but I’m afraid that this responsibility will end with false statements and promises that will only disappoint Serbs,” Nojkic said. He said that the temporary Kosovo institutions should not have been allowed to destroy and take away the equipment like vandals. Nojkic said that the operators should have been warned that they were not working legally and should have been given a proposal for solving the problem.
