SNS deputy leader Aleksandar Vucic has poured scorn on the government’s anti-crisis measures, adding that the bulk of his party’s proposals had been rejected. Speaking to B92, Vucic said that the Serb Progressive Party (SNS) would be submitting in parliament today amendments to the Law on Financing Parties, which would, he said, generate major savings. SNS dismissive of anti-crisis measures “The government’s measures don’t support industrial development or job creation, and serve merely as a one-off budget injection,“ he said. Vucic said that it was necessary to make changes to monetary policy by cutting interest rates and developing the Serbian banking system, as well as the financial sphere, as it was unwise to cut municipal budgets. “First of all, cut taxes and salary contributions. Bring down the current 66 percent to 50 percent, have a non-taxable band of RSD 6,500 (around EUR 70). Why? You won’t have any less money in the budget from the mass of funds. You’ll actually have more, and you’ll also have more people in work than today,“ said the SNS official. He said that SNS leader Tomislav Nikolic would be proposing in parliament today amendments to the Law on Financing Parties, which, according to the party’s calculations, would generate savings of around 20 percent, or between EUR 750,000 and EUR 850,000 per month. “The Progressives will also propose that parties should not receive any budget funding for elections,“ said Vucic, adding that the SNS was already 20 days into its campaign calling for early parliamentary elections. U većem delu Srbije će danas pre podne biti pretežno sunčano, toplo, suvo i vetrovito, uz olujnu košavu u Beogradu, na jugu Banata, u Pomoravlju i donjem Podunavlju, a već u poslepodnevnim satima biće kratkotrajne kiše ili pljuskova.
