Indonesia's Ambassador to Belgrade Muhammad Dalimunthe says the Kosovo problem is of a political nature. "Kosovo wishes to separate from Serbia although it is a part of its territory, and there are no elements of a religious conflict there," Dalimunthe said. Indonesia reiterates backing over Kosovo "Indonesia has based its position precisely on these facts, on respecting your country's territorial integrity. That is our clear and express position," the diplomat told the daily Politika in an interview. Serbia and Indonesia, Dalimunthe continued, are aware of the historical depth of mutual connections. "We have similar interpretation of a good political cooperation channeled toward the economy, trade, investment, defense and personal contacts sectors. Both countries have shown their firm dedication to international law, national integrity and a high degree of respect for peaceful solving of conflicts." "Precisely for this reason we are supporting Serbia when it comes to the Kosovo problem. We consider Serbia to be defending a legal issue," the Indonesian ambassador concluded.
