Radovan Karadzic’s lawyer says a police DNA analysis has confirmed that the bag discovered two days ago is his client’s. Explaining that he had gone to MUP headquarters at midday today to retrieve the items, Svetozar Vujacic said that he had not taken the laptop and discs because, he said, the expert engaged by the defense had not been in a position to perform a check on the aforesaid articles for technical reasons. Lawyer: Bag belongs to Karadzic Vujacic said that he would pick up the laptop and 55 discs tomorrow. The bag, suspected of belonging to Karadzic, containing the laptop, discs, newspaper clippings and two books, was discovered on Monday next to the Batajnica road. The Action Team for Cooperation with the Hague Tribunal announced earlier that a DNA analysis and other tests were being performed in order to shed light on the circumstances in the case, and particularly in order to establish whether the articles did indeed belong to the former Bosnian Serb leader. Karadzic was extradited to the Hague on July 30 after spending 13 years on the run. He is accused of genocide, complicity in genocide, execution, murder, punishment, deportation, inhumane acts and other crimes against Muslims, Croats and other non-Serb civilians in Bosnia-Hercegovina during the Nineties.
