The Anti-Organized Crime Special Prosecution has pressed charges against 31 people linked to City Sanitation. They are suspected of being members of an organized crime group, and of fraud amounting to EUR 8.6mn. 31 to be charged in City Sanitation scandal In the investigation application, Milan Kuzmanov, businessman and owner of the Planeta nightclub, and City Sanitation Director Dragan Ignjatovic are cited as the group masterminds. According to a statement from the Special Prosecution yesterday, they are suspected of abusing their authority to commit fraud worth EUR 8.6mn between 2001 and 2007. The special prosecutor recommended the suspects be remanded in custody, and their cases will be heard before the Belgrade District Court’s Special Section. The suspects were all arrested on Monday morning in a police raid.
