The highway sections between Novi Sad and Horgos, and Subotica and Kelebija are priority projects that are to be completed by the end of 2010. This is according to Serbian Minister for Infrastructure Milutin Mrkonjic, who spoke on Wednesday in Belgrade, during the presentation of the General Transport Master Plan for Serbia. Minister: EUR 22bn for infrastructure The plan envisages a EUR 22.18bn investment in traffic infrastructure in the next 17 years, Mrkonjic said. The document was adopted by the National Council for Infrastructure last week. Mrkonjic underlined that "Serbia was presented with a master plan" that includes road, railroad, air and water transport projects, "in keeping with European standards". "By integrating Serbia into the European transport network, we create the conditions that Serbia need in order to become a European country," said he. The presentation at the Palace of Serbia was attended by EU Delegation in Serbia chief Vincent Deger, Serbian Deputy PMs Jovan Krkobabic and Ivica Dacic, Director of the government EU Integration Office Milica Delevic, representatives of the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), ambassadors of EU member states and other officials.
