“Firefighters will remain at the scene for a few more hours in order to monitor the situation,” Belgrade Emergency Situations Administration Head Sanja Žugić Vuksanović told Beta news agency.

The fire broke out at 7:45 CET near the Belgrade suburb of Resnik after the gas pipeline explosion. Public gas company Srbijagas immediately shut the pipeline down and made it easier for the firefighters to put out the fire.

“Traffic in this part of the city will soon be normalized,” Žugić Vuksanović added.
