Bosnian Presidency member condemns violence in Egypt
Bakir Izetbegović has condemned "perfidious murder and violence of Egypt's security apparatus against demonstrators seeking the return of the ousted president."
Source: BetaThe Bosniak (Muslim) member of the Bosnian Presidency was reacting to the clashes in Egypt between the supporters of former President Mohamed Morsi and the country's security forces.
"It is unacceptable that the Egyptian army and police are shooting at the citizens protesting against the forcefully imposed suspension of their basic rights," he stated, and added:
"In Egypt, as in all other countries where the citizens want democracy, the system must be arranged in a way that guarantees human rights, civil freedoms, fair elections and democratic rule."
"The overthrow of democratically elected officials, arrests and killing of members of some political parties, violence and threat of armed force must end," Izetbegović was quoted as saying.
