Thaci photographed talking to Medvedev

"The meeting was held in Ankara, where many state leaders gathered for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's inauguration," the website said.
Thaci wrote on Facebook that he "met briefly with Medvedev," and "briefed him on developments in Kosovo and the region."
In addition, Thaci continued, "I asked Prime Minister Medvedev to establish an initial communication between our two countries."
"We also spoke about the final phase of the dialogue on normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia and agreed that a potential agreement will bring long-lasting peace in the Western Balkans," Thaci wrote.
Russia does not recognize the unilateral declaration of independence made by Kosovo Albanians in 2008.
