Vucic wants Merkel to speed up Nis-Pristina highway

The Serbian president Vucic asked the German chancellor to use here reputation and authority to speed up the realization of these two projects.
In a phone conversation, Vucic told Merkel that he believes the Regional Economic Zone and the construction of the Nis-Pristina highway is of great importance to the Western Balkans.
In particular, he highlighted the Regional Economic Zone as a project of key importance for the future of Serbia and the whole region, as it would attract more investments and accelerate the flow of people, goods, capital and services.
Vucic and Merkel discussed regional cooperation ahead of the Western Balkans Summit in the framework of the Berlin Process that is taking place in London in order to consider the possible results of the event and their application to the region in order to improve cooperation in this part of Europe, a press release quoted by Tanjug said.
The president "thanked the German chancellor for significantly contributing to the peace and stability of the Western Balkans with her initiative to launch the Berlin Process."
According to this, Vucic and Merkel also discussed the continuation of Belgrade-Pristina dialogue "and agreed that the dialogue was necessary, and that the preservation of peace and the achievement of a compromise solution is crucial for both sides."
Vucic and Merkel discussed also the migrant crisis as well as the measures that Serbia has undertaken and is undertaking to continue its "responsible policy on the issue."
