RIK decided yesterday to repeat the second round of the elections at a polling station in Boljevac municipality. The vote at the Dobro Polje Community Center in the municipality, where 362 voters are registered, will be re-held on February 12, which means that the announcement of the final election result will be postponed. RIK to delay official election result The final results were due to be announced by today at the latest, but the deadline has been put back to 2000hrs on February 16. A complaint was submitted by Slavoljub Mitrovic from Dobro Polje, who claimed that a certain Ratomir Lazarevic had voted with an identity card that had expired on January 6. The Republic Electoral Commission dismissed eight other complaints as unfounded. RIK decided to the re-stage the vote after an often stormy five-hour debate and several intervals. After a one-hour break, when RIK members reconvened to continue their work, Commission President Sonja Brkic gave a statement to TV Avala from behind the table that the other members were sitting around, that the motion had not received a majority of votes and that a decision would be taken at a session today. This sparked harsh rebukes from the commission’s Serb Radical Party (SRS) members, who asked whether the resumption of the session had begun with a statement to the media. Eventually, RIK decided to organize a re-run of the vote at the Dobro Polje Community Center.
