Serbia, Canada could cooperate in mining, energy

Mining, energy, hydropower construction, the pharmaceutical industry, are all areas offering prospects for cooperation between Serbia and Canada.

Others inclue information technology, infrastructure, agriculture and the food industry, participants of the first Canada-Serbia business forum agreed on Wednesday.

Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia President Marko Cadez said that the potentials for improving economic ties between Serbia and Canada are much greater than the actual cooperation so far, which is dominated by a modest trade volume.

Milos Petrovic, state secretary at the Ministry of Economy, noted that over 50 Slovenian companies are operating in Serbia and that investors from that country have long-term intentions, but that there is still much room left to improve the cooperation.
