I NEVER said that Kosovo should join Serbia in order to get into UN. Kosovo is a part of Serbia so as a part of Serbia (like any other part of Serbia) it will be in the UN as SERBIA not Kosovo.

Do you understand it now or are you going to continue to twist my words?
Even if you do continue to twist what I say at least everyone else reading my posts knows what I mean.

  2. Taiwan is receiving investments. I never said they didn't but.....
that's ok because China doesn't have a problem with what is goin on there. Taiwan has the freedom to conduct it's own business with China's blessing but they cannot get independence. Investors are confident there won't be any dispute about who owns what.
This is something Serbia would accept with Kosovo.
Then the rest of the world would treat Kosovo the same way they treat Taiwan and you would get investors and people there would enjoy a better
    (Peggy, 27 November 2012 23:13)

Ok, that's a great solution. You or Serbia are free to think that Kosovo is like Taiwan. Kosovo does not have any objection to that, and even if it did, it can't certainly control Serbia's thoughts. Problem solved.

You know you keep harping on that even though there were 2nd elections held in contested places and observers stated that the elections were fair.
But you never speak of the Serbian election. In the first round Tadic beat Nikolic, and then right before the runoff, comes the report and pictures of Nikolic holding ballots supposedly that were discarded and promising to have them investigated, then he wins the runoff and no one ever hears any more. Is there any possibility that it was not a stunt to sway the election? Now the suddenly roundup of any and all opposition(only) parties in the goal to clean up corruption. I think if you are looking at dirty politicians and election fraud you only need to open your own front door.

    (Peggy, 27 November 2012 02:27)

No bieng in the IMF doesn't make you money, but spending and investing money from loans from the IMF can make you money and Kosovo has a great credit rating.
Kosovo is a recognised country and does have investors, this is why Kosovo has the fastest growing economy in Europe.
Kosovo has tried been recongised and it is working, two more recognitions and Kosovo will have over 50% UN members recognising Kosovo.
To gain UN membership you don't need recogniton from "5/5 permanent security council members", you need to not get vetoed by any one of them. And soon enough Russia and China will want something to not get vetoed in security council and the other 3 will have their price.
Australia has a vote in many UN institutions, where there is no veto from the security council; where Kosovo will join like it has with the IMF and World Bank. International Telegraph Union and UNESCO next, 2/3 votes are required for membership in these US organisations.

Serbia has been independent since the late 1800s I believe.
They are also not part of eu or NATO. They are part of UN.

Albania is part of UN and NATO and soon to be eu. Actually they will be the next Balkan nation to join he eu. Montenegro will not join as soon as people think because of the big influence Russia holds there.

As Albania has the fastest growing economy in the region they will take the leadership role.

Croatia and Montenegro are too busy looking towards the eu to even attempt this.

Albania will eventually have a say so in who joins NATO and eu next.

I wonder if they will side with their own brethren or the Serb terrorists who have been trying to exterminate them since they arrived here in the Balkans.

I know a lot of people will laugh at Albania being the regional leader but they will fail to see that Croatia is a German playground and Montenegro is a Russian playground.

If you dream for Albs to be part of Serbia you will be dreaming for a very very long time.
Since Albanians in the Balkans aim towards a unification, the logical move is to be represented through Albania itself. They have and are doing so. Many K-Alb play for Alb national teams and last year indeed Alb was represented by a singer from Kosovo in Eurovision.

The truth is that the center of influence in Kosovo is Tirana and not Belgrade, and that when you think you are giving them a lesson, you are doing exactly the opposite, you are uniting them into a de-facto unified state/people. That is only in the best interest of Albanians as now they can form larger economic markets and share resources.

I believe this is an opportunity Albs are not taking full advantage of.

There is no consensus among member states that Kosovo was a mistake, if so there would not be 22 for and 5 against.
The 5 have been adament from day one that they opposed recognition of Kosovo so I do not understand the "strengthening". However, IF, Serbia becomes a EU member it will be under terms that the others would have no opposition to its recognition, that is the reason for the big push for Serbia in the EU not because it will be some type of salvation for the EU.
As far as joining the EU or the UN or NATO, these are not things that could ever be used to convince a reunification with Serbia.

So, if Kosovo agrees with the more-than-autonomy-but-less-then-independence solution, Serbia will not object to Kosovo becoming a UN member ?

first an Albanian tries to pretend some kind of literacy, and then I see another Albanian pretending to be a serb "Adam" who "accepts" Kosovo being a state...

gee, what are you guys dreaming about???

@Nori: I think you´re wrong. if all other means fail, waging war would help, of course.
those Albanians who lived in KiM prior to 1999 should be given the right to decide for themselves either to stay or to live within serbian borders on serbian territory, and if not, they should be free to leave.

but I think Serbia will do it smarter, much smarter, once the time has come.

but it is still too early, we are just at the beginning of a change. and your problem will be, that you´re not an asian "country"... because the US will focus on Asia in the future.

so don´t be so foolish to believe what Mrs.Clinton has babbled about on her visit in southern Serbia.

We? Who the hell is we?! I guess if you consider yourself a Serb over the keyboard and "break the reality" to the rest of them, maybe they will start coming around to the idea that the occupation is legal and accepted by the world.

Oh the efforts the Serbophobes go will never cease to amaze me. Their commitment to Serbia is incredible.

    Thanks "Adam"

  48. Nik- It s true you have tried to erase Serbia from kosovo. But no matter how many churches and graveyards you defile, Serbian soul will forever be there. Lets be honest, it was much better for kalbs before the war ( and i was there a lot). Run now by by a narco kleptocracy, clan based politics that belongs to the stone age, racism like nothing existing today. What a paradise. Albanians couldnt organise a piss up in a brewery, except with the help of fellow minded organ harvesters. It is a stillborn birth, and will forever remain thus until you accept a fair deal. And as war goes, be careful what you wish for, you might just get it. Greater Albania is dead.

  52. @ Ari, Peggy i must say its always a delight to read your comments .
And Ari the reason why i personally comment is because you are so freaking annoying, Peggy is something other then annoying i dont even know how to explain what Peggy is. And the reason why i read the news on B92 is because i like to keep myself informed, i want to know how the thinking is on serbias most liberal newpaper, and B92 is far from the only news i read.

We in Kosovo ar not delusional about anything we know exactly where we are and nobody is saying that where we are today is good enough, far from it. There is so much more that has to be done, firstly we also have to steer away from the blindness of adjoining EU, we have to work within and strengthen the country from within but thats easy said and very hard to do especially when you have neighbors wont cooperate.

But what you dont understand is that no matter all of this, it still wont give Kosovo back to you, i admitt it will make the life of ordinary citizens hard but thats nothing that we are not used to, at least we are no longer oppressed.

You always have the option of waging another war against Kosovo but i cant see how that would help you it most probably wouldent.

  53. "In a commentary published on Monday, Koha Ditore notices that the opposition to Kosovo's independence is strengthening among the five - Cyprus, Greece, Romania, Slovakia, and Spain."

Strengthening? Why? These five countries always openly said that they won't recognize a unilaterally declared state of Kosovo. So: Nothing new about that.

By the way, it's not about an INDEPENDENT Kosovo: I'm sure that none of these states would oppose a Kosovo created after a mutual agreement with Serbia was reached. The problem these countries and many others see is that Kosovo was unilaterally created by an ethnic minority.

However, Kosovo should not be satisfied with this, and even manipulate its public opinion (to believe) that the EU is treating it as any other state. Wise words. Yes, politicians in Pristina never stop to create the illusion that Kosovo is a sovereign state. But the reality is that it is a nothing more and nothing less than a disputed territory like Taiwan, Northern Cyprus, Palestine, South Ossetia..., i.e. not like a any other UN member state.

  55. Kosovo's chances to join EU are just as high as Serbia's. 22 (soon 23) vs. 5. The allies of each side will block the other one, while nothing changes on the ground. Kosovo was in far less favorable situation during the 1990s, when nobody hold anything on them. Now, the have the support of round about 100 states. There won't be a going back.

Nevertheless, the Koha report is accurate. The main problem for internal problems bears a name. It is Thaci and it is good that Koha points that out.

Because it is not a state, it is a occupied province and a disputed territory.
