Koštunica rules out cooperation with SNS

Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) leader Vojislav Kostunica says that he will not be cooperating with the Serb Progressive Party (SNS) prior to new elections. “In this fight for change, the DSS has chosen its allies in New Serbia (NS) and the National Party (NP), and any talk of other coalitions could be possible after elections,” Kostunica told daily Vecernje Novosti. Kostunica rules out cooperation with SNS The daily points out that SNS leader Tomislav Nikolic called on the DSS on Wednesday to consider cooperating with his party. “Tomislav Nikolic talks about the DSS regularly, as if we were still in power. The job of opposition parties is to criticize the government, not to deal with the opposition,” the DSS leader said. Kostunica said that the DSS’s only target of criticism was “the incompetence of the government, because that is the natural law of democracy.” SNS deputy leader Aleksandar Vucic told the daily that his party was most critical of the government, denying that it was more interested in the opposition. “The truth is that Kostunica’s people, like Maja Gojkovic, talk about us every day and relentlessly attack the SNS. I must remind you that Kostunica was in a coalition with Boris Tadic for seven years, not Nikolic or me, and that is why it doesn’t make sense for him to be preaching to us. Koštunica rules out cooperation with SNS

The daily points out that SNS leader Tomislav Nikolić called on the DSS on Wednesday to consider cooperating with his party.

“Tomislav Nikolić talks about the DSS regularly, as if we were still in power. The job of opposition parties is to criticize the government, not to deal with the opposition,” the DSS leader said.

Koštunica said that the DSS’s only target of criticism was “the incompetence of the government, because that is the natural law of democracy.”
