Vucic satisfied with Macron's letter

In a statement to TV Pink, he said this was "not a circular letter" that would have gone to everyone who attended the (scandalous) ceremony in Paris (on Nov. 11) - "but about a special letter for Serbia, handed over by the president of France."

According to him, the letter expressed high respect for the state of Serbia and the Serbian people, and talks about the 1,270,000 Serbian victims (in WW1) and the need to show them respect.

"The protocol of Macron's visit shows that he wants to show respect to the Serbian victims and how much he values the struggle of the Serbian people in WW1. The second part of the letter talks about stability and the European path," Vucic said.

He pointed out that it was "up to us to make such a visit for the president of France, which he will remember and show the traditional Serbian hospitality."

"The Serbs have never asked for anything more than ordinary respect, we do not ask for anything, we are one of the few countries that ask for the least money from the EU. We're not moaning, we're not begging for (the opening of EU membership negotiations) chapters, for nothing. We are not looking for anything in particular. What we do ask for is that our country is respected, while we are able to earn, and build ourselves," Vucic emphasized.
