BELGRADE The Democratic Party (DS) said that there was "nothing secret" in the Kosovo dialogue agreements "signed by the previous government in Brussels". That government was led by the now opposition Democrats, while the agreements stem from the EU-sponsored Kosovo dialogue. Opposition DS urges govt. to "tell truth about agreements" In a statement issued in Belgrade on Tuesday, the party asserted that the current cabinet was "deceiving people by saying that these are international agreements which have to be fulfilled". The DS urged the new government to "acquaint citizens with the truth and its plan for Kosovo", adding that if the government believed that the agreements with Pristina are contrary to Serbia's interests, "it should annul them and restart the negotiating process". “The full truth is that these are conclusions of the (previous) government which the current one can annul. However, this government wants to go further and make much greater concessions to Pristina, but tries to hide this by claiming that it is only implementing the bad policy it inherited,” reads the statement, which, the party said, was issued "on the occasion of the attack of the current authorities against the DS" - by which the new government "wants to avoid responsibility for its own moves". “There is nothing secret in the agreement that the government reached with Pristina, and anyone who claims the opposite is telling lies. Both the government and the opposition were familiar with the content of the agreements, and President Tomislav Nikolic himself confirmed that the agreements do not have any secret or unconstitutional elements,” the party statement said.
