Serbia should be proud of its anti-Fascist past because it had the courage to take the right side during the 1930’s and 1940’s, Deputy PM Bozidar Djelic said. He pointed out that "Yugoslavia" sided with the Soviet Union and the United States, and together with them fought against “this plague of our civilization”. International Day Against Fascism marked “Fight against fascism is one of the brightest moments in the history of the Serb people,” he said during celebration of November 9, International Day against Fascism and Anti-Semitism. Djelic stated that ideas of Nazism and fascism should never again be allowed to “find fertile ground” in the Balkans and Europe. "We are proud of our ancestors, they made an enormous contribution to the fight the results of which have been built into what Europe is today," he stressed. “Even today Serbia is building allied relations with Europe, Russia and America and wants to create future of common European continent with them,” said Djelic. Serbian MPs, foreign ambassadors, representatives of the Serbian Army (VS) and others attended the commemoration of Crystal Night - the night of November 9–10, 1938 which marked the beginning of the Holocaust in Nazi Germany. “Fight against fascism is one of the brightest moments in the history of the Serb people,” he said during celebration of November 9, International Day against Fascism and Anti-Semitism.

Đelić stated that ideas of Nazism and fascism should never again be allowed to “find fertile ground” in the Balkans and Europe.

"We are proud of our ancestors, they made an enormous contribution to the fight the results of which have been built into what Europe is today," he stressed.

“Even today Serbia is building allied relations with Europe, Russia and America and wants to create future of common European continent with them,” said Đelić.
