Locals in the village of Zitiste in northern Serbia unveiled a statue of Rocky Balboa Saturday. Zitiste, about 60 kilometers north of Belgrade, is now home to a huge monument to actor Sylvester Stallone's film character in the village square to attract tourists and show a new face to the world. The Rocky statue was unveiled as part of a music and entertainment festival in the village which has repeatedly suffered flooding and landslides in recent years, gaining a disaster-prone reputation. The locals recently started contemplating how to change that image and revive the village — one of the poorest in northern Serbia — and came up with the idea of a statue of the tenacious fictional fighter.
