Jelena Jankovic cruised through to the final of the Masters Tournament in Miami, crushing Vera Zvonareva 6-1 6-4. It took the Serb world no.3 only an hour and fifteen minutes to dispose of the 19th seed from Russia, to set up a final with defending champion Serena Williams, who had considerably more difficulty in overcoming Svetlana Kuznetsova in the second semi, having to come from a set down to prevail 2:1 (3-6, 7-5, 6-3). Jankovic eases into Miami final Jankovic dominated her match from start to finish, taking advantage of a string of unforced errors by her opponent. After wrapping up the first set in only 27 minutes, Zvonareva put up considerably more resistance in the second, but when the Jankovic broke in game 5, it proved decisive, as the Russian vainly strove to return the break. Tomorrow’s final will be the sixth of Jankovic’s career, having lost in the semi-finals of her last three ranking events.
