Police detain three Wahhabis in Sandžak

The three are suspected of forming a joint criminal association in order to perform terrorist activities, and are said to be connected with the Wahhabis previously detained on similar charges.

On March 17, police arrested Mirsad Prentić, Fuad Hodžić, Vahid Vejselović and Senad Vejselović, confiscating a large cache of plastic explosives, bullet rounds, hand grenades and military equipment in a camp discovered south of Novi Pazar, said to have been set up by the members of the extremist Islamic movement.

Ismail Prentić, identified as the leader of the local Wahhabis, was killed in a showdown with special police forces on April 20, in a village close to the town.

The office of the Special Organized Crime Prosecution took over the case the same day, labeling it a state secret.
