The Foreign Ministry has recalled Serbia’s ambassador to the Czech Republic, following the country’s recognition of Kosovo’s unilateral independence. The ministry has sent a protest note to the Czech government. Serbia recalls ambassador from Prague The ministry stated that in accordance with the Action Plan adopted by the government earlier this year, Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic had instructed the immediate recall of Serbian Ambassador Vladimir Veres from the Czech Republic. The ambassador is due to leave the country within 48 hours from the delivery of the Foreign Ministry’s protest note, and to return to Serbia for further consultations. The Czech Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday that its government had adopted a proposal for establishing diplomatic relations with Kosovo, thus, in effect, recognizing the province’s independence.

Serbia recalls ambassador from Prague

The ministry stated that in accordance with the Action Plan adopted by the government earlier this year, Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić had instructed the immediate recall of Serbian Ambassador Vladimir Vereš from the Czech Republic.

The ambassador is due to leave the country within 48 hours from the delivery of the Foreign Ministry’s protest note, and to return to Serbia for further consultations.
