“Serbia, Russia have common Kosovo policy”

The common position is based on respect of the UN Charter, the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and the Serbian Constitution, Koštunica added.

Koštunica also stressed Serbia’s “firm determination to improve economic relations with Russia,” through widening trade between the two countries.

According to him, cooperation with Russia is of strategic importance for Serbia, as well as that this cooperation developed “in the spirit of partnership.”

Shoigu, co-chairman of the Inter-Governmental Serbian-Russian Committee for Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation, said that political and economic relations between the two countries were “very good.”

He said that important strategic projects were launched during the past year and that Russia was very interested in further investments.

Russian investments in strategic economic areas, such as energy, infrastructure, river and air traffic, metallurgy and banking were singled out as important targets of future cooperation.
