The trial of Albin Kurit has been postponed for May 4, after he once again failed to show up in court for his hearing. The leader of the radical ethnic Albanian Self-Determination Movement was not present in the Pristina Director Court on Wednesday, despite the warrant issued for his arrest last week by EULEX. The court statement adds that not even Kurti’s lawyers showed up today, “which is a violation of their official duties”. Kurti is accused of participating in a group that obstructed official persons from conducting their duties and responsibilities. The prosecution announced last week that it would be dropping the third count of the indictment against Kurti related to resisting arrest. The crimes he is charged for were allegedly committed during the movement's protest on February 10, 2007 in Pristina, when two people died in clashes with international police.
