Serbian citizen detained with 10 kilos of heroin

SKOPJE -- The police in Macedonia have announced that they had a Serbian citizen in custody on suspicion that he was smuggling ten kilograms of heroin.
The 33-year-old man, who has not been named, was arrested on the Bogorodica border crossing late on Tuesday.
According to the Macedonian police, he was traveling from Turkey along with is father, wife and three-year-old child, while the drugs, worth about a million euros, were hidden in his Mercedes.
The suspect "claimed that he procured the heroin from unknown persons", according to reports, while the police "suspect the case is about international drug trafficking", and are investigating involvement of other persons.
The investigation will be expanded in cooperation with the Serbian police, it was announced in Skopje by Interior Minister Gordana Jankulovska.
