The officer was identified as Ljupco Vilimonovic, and is suspected of taking bribes. The MoD said that the agency on two occasions "documented" that he had taken bribes, and then moved to place him in custody. Vilimonovic is the commander of the 37th Mechanized Battalion of the 3rd Brigade of the Ground Forces. According to media reports, he is also the commander of the army barracks in Kursumlija, southern Serbia. Vilimonović was arrested on Thursday in a joint operation of the Military Police, the Military-Security Agency (VBA), and the Higher Prosecution in the town of Prokuplje.
