Serbian weapons exported on board U.S. Air Force planes

"The American military transport aircraft C-17 were engaged in cargo transport of products of the Serbian defense industry," the airport has officially confirmed.

The newspaper quotes "diplomatic circles" who unofficially said that the cargo consisted of weapons, whose formal buyer is from America. However, the final destination of these "lethal goods" is not known.

The article said that the planes carried a large quantity of ammunition for infantry weapons - pistols and rifles. "Americans regularly buy Serbian automatic weapons, which is often repurposed into sports and hunting weapons," the daily reports.

Thus "thousands of tons" of ammunition, pistols and rifles manufactured in Serbia have been sold to U.S. market in recent years, most made in the Kragujevac-based Zastava Oruzje (Zastava Arms) factory.

"The U.S. Army procures and transports weapons and ammunition not only for itself but also for several armies in countries where the U.S. has military bases, such as Afghanistan or Iraq," a source "versed in the arms trade" told the paper.

Rusi prešli severnu granicu: Harkov pada?
