In a meeting with members of the European Jewish Congress (ECJ), Vladimir Putin suggested that European Jews should immigrate to Russia.

Putin invites European Jews to move to Russia

"You have always been, remain, and I hope will be a friend of the Jewish people," Kantor told Putin, noting that anti-Semitism and attacks in Europe are resulting in Jews slowly leaving the continent.

Kantor also said the ECJ supported Russia in its fight against IS, as the Russian warplanes are defending "not only Russia's interests, but are also protecting Europe."

Putin said the European Jewish Congress as an ally of Russia in the fight against anti-Semitism, and thanked them for the efforts to prevent glorification of Nazi ideology.

"We consider your organization as a natural ally of Russia in the fight against xenophobia, anti-Semitism, against expression of any radical views, and it is one of the most representative European non-governmental organizations. You are also our direct allies in preserving the memory of World War II, of the consequences of this tragedy of the human scale, of Holocaust," Putin said.
