President Boris Tadic visited Thursday the School of Friendship children's summer camp on Mt. Tara. The summer camp is hosting several hundred children from eight countries in the region from July 2 until August 6. Tadic visits School of Friendship on Mt. Tara For the 11th year in a row, the School of Friendship has been organized by the Nasa Serbia (Our Serbia) charity organization, and this year's sponsor is Israel, whose Ambassador Arthur Koll visited the camp together with President Tadic. RS President Milorad Dodik, Serb member of the Croatian parliament Milorad Pupovac, SPC Bishop of Lipljan Jovan, Serbia's Consul General in Chicago Desko Nikitovic, and Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic's father Srdjan visited the summer camp along with the president and the ambassador. Tadic and Koll toured the workshops designed for the education and entertainment of children who lost one or both parents in 1990s conflicts. The children from Serbia, who came from the enclaves in Kosovo, the camp is hosting children from Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Slovenia, and Bosnia. The children welcomed the Serbian president with the Serbian national anthem, and he talked to them about school, growing up and playing - said reports from the western Serbian mountain resort. Tadic was quoted as telling them that "more serious topics also needed to be talked about, one of them being the history of all peoples in the region, which had been very painful, but everyone wanted to change that for the better and leave the past in the past". "Even though life is a serious things, you should laugh as much as you can. We leave the past to the past, and we should look to the future smiling." Ambassador Koll said his country decided to sponsor this year's summer school because children were "an investment for the future".
