The Beli Timok and Crni Timok rivers’ water levels are decreasing after rain has stopped falling in Zajecar, eastern Serbia. However, the flooding situation is still critical in this town, and defenses against flooding are being implemented in nearby Negotin as well. Water level in eastern Serbia subsiding The floods occurred after snow melted and rain fell over the weekend. According to announcements of the state hydro-meteorological bureau (RHMZ) the water levels of both rivers are decreasing, while the Sava River in Sabac and the Tamis River are expected to rise in the coming days. Interior Ministry Emergency Situations Sector Chief Predrag Maric said that water levels are decreasing in Zajecar and Bor and that the situation is normalizing, but warned that the Sava in Sabac is still rising. Maric said that problems with drinking water in Bor will be resolved during the day. (Beta)

Interior Ministry Emergency Situations Sector Chief Predrag Marić said that water levels are decreasing in Zaječar and Bor and that the situation is normalizing, but warned that the Sava in Šabac is still rising.
Marić said that problems with drinking water in Bor will be resolved during the day.
