The data on how many people have contracted the swine flu in Serbia will be looked at in a discussion of whether it will be declared an epidemic. The Health Ministry's working group for monitoring the flu will consider the possibility of declaring an epidemic, working group President Predrag Kon stated. Declaration of epidemic to be considered Kon told B92 that declaring an epidemic is serious and implies the need for special immunization, in which some three million people should be vaccinated. Commenting on why the vaccine has yet to arrive, Kon said that the European Medicines Agency approved the application of three vaccines, and that in accordance with that decision the group proposed the widespread immunization and ordered three million vaccines to be purchased.
