The health minister says an agreement has been reached for getting medicine to health centers in Kosovo. “I am told by the office of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Belgrade that an agreement has been reached with UNMIK, and that the problems of supplying medicine and disposable medical materials to health institutions in Kosovo no longer exist,” Tomica Milosavljevic said. Agreement on medicines to Kosovo Milosavljevic said that a procedure had been agreed involving the WHO offices in Belgrade and Pristina. “I am convinced that there will be no repeat of the problems of transporting medicine and equipment to health centers in Kosovo,” said the minister. He said that the ministry would continue to do its job, adding that the medical center in Kosovska Mitrovica would receive 14 new vehicles in four week’s time, as well as new equipment such as ultrasound and EKG monitoring machines. Supplies of medicine sent from Serbia to Serb enclaves in central Kosovo have been stopped by UNMIK customs workers on a number of occasions, because no license has been issued by the Kosovo Agency for Medicine Transportation.
