The first multiplex cinema in the country officially opened in the Delta City mall in New Belgrade. Six screening halls with 1,200 seats and covering a total of 3,000 sq meters are equipped with the digital sound systems, latest projectors and wall-to-wall screens, Delta said. Serbia's first multiplex cinema opens Belgrade Deputy Mayor Radmila Hrustanovic, who was attending the opening, reminded that the first film screening in Belgrade took place in 1896 in the cafe Golden Cross cafe, five months after the first projection in Paris. She also highlighted the importance of the movie theater complex, the first of its kind not only in Belgrade but also in Serbia. Delta City is owned by Delta Holding, Serbia's largest private corporation.
