An expert team from Kragujevac has removed the bomb crates that fell out of a military truck at a highway toll booth yesterday. The military truck was transferring 18 crates of bombs from a military facility in Nis to be destroyed at the Technical Repair Bureau in Kragujevac. Bomb crates transferred safely Defense Ministry spokesperson Petar Boskovic told B92 that the bombs had been in their original crates and that there was no chance of an explosion because the detonators had been packed separately. Boskovic said that the bombs had been taken to Kragujevac and that the section of the highway where the accident occurred had been cleared and was safe for travel. The toll booth in the town of Batocina was secured right after the incident by police and military officials, and the army’s logistics administration commission was also informed. Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac has demanded an immediate investigation into the matter.

Defense Ministry spokesperson Petar Bošković told B92 that the bombs had been in their original crates and that there was no chance of an explosion because the detonators had been packed separately.

Bošković said that the bombs had been taken to Kragujevac and that the section of the highway where the accident occurred had been cleared and was safe for travel.

The toll booth in the town of Batočina was secured right after the incident by police and military officials, and the army’s logistics administration commission was also informed.

Defense Minister Dragan Šutanovac has demanded an immediate investigation into the matter.
