Kursumlija military reservists have announced a blockade of the municipal court today. According to the strikers’ executive board, the reservists will block the work of the municipal court in Kursumlija today and will not allow judges to enter the building. Protesting reservists to block courts Strike leader Dejan Milosevic said that they were taking the step because the institution in question had declared the matter outwith its jurisdiction and had rejected the reservists’ compensation claims following government pressure. Milosevic said that the reservists had been forced to pay very high court costs despite all their charges having been rejected for undisclosed reasons. There have been about 500 rulings in the court already in which the reservists have received, on average, about RSD 500,000 (EUR 6,250) for daily wages earned during the Kosovo conflict of 1999. However, the cases of many reservists have recently been rejected by the Kursumlija court and been sent to its counterpart in Krusevac.
