War crimes indictee Radovan Karadzic’s daughter Sonja says her brother Aleksandar does not have a Bosnian passport. Sonja Karadzic-Jovicevic told Banja Luka’s Alternative Television (ATV) on Sunday it was unclear how her brother would now return to Bosnia after the Serbian authorities ordered him to leave Serbia within three days. “Karadzic son has no Bosnian citizenship” Aleksandar Karadzic was detained on Friday in Belgrade after he was found with a Serbian ID that had not been issued according to valid regulations. As soon as the police ascertained that Karadzic was not a Serbian citizen, he was given three days to leave the country and barred from entering Serbia over the next twelve months. His sister said Aleksandar was staying in Serbia with a permission of the Serbian MUP to look after his ill child, adding that he has had a Serbian ID "for the past eight years." “I know that Aleksandar had Serbian documents and that he believed to have had the Serbian citizenship as well,” said Sonja, adding that, for that reason, her brother never applied for Bosnian citizenship. “I haven’t heard from him yet, but I do not know how he could now return to Bosnia if he doesn’t have Bosnian ID and documents either.”
