Russia and Bulgaria will soon form a joint company that will help realize the South Stream pipeline project. This is according to Russia's Minister of Energy Sergei Shmatko, who made the announcement on Monday after his meeting with Bulgarian Parliament Speaker Tsetska Tsacheva. Russia, Bulgaria to form joint S. Stream company Shmatko said that he thinks the company will be formed very soon, in accordance with an agreement between the two countries' governments. The South Stream pipeline is a project that should help the delivery of Russian natural gas to the western Europe. Its route will go under the Black Sea and into Bulgaria, where it will be split into two directions, one going through Greece and under the sea to Italy and the other through Serbia, Hungary and Slovenia to storage facilities in Austria.
