The two candidates running in the runoff of Croatia's presidential elections last night commented on Serbia's decision to sue their country for genocide. SDP candidate and frontrunner Ivo Josipovic told Croatia's state television HRT that Serbia "has a right to sue Croatia", and that it is "up to Croatia to win that case". Presidential candidates on countersuit Josipovic was a member of a team that ten years ago filed similar charges against Serbia before the International Court of Justice (ICJ). He commented by saying that with its lawsuit Croatia sought to learn about the fate of the imprisoned and missing, processing of war crimes and return of cultural wealth. Josipovic said that while the suits "burden relations, it is important for the goals of the lawsuit to be achieved". Independent candidate and current Zagreb Mayor Miland Bandic said that Serbia's case "had no grounds".
