The chairman of the Bosnian Presidency supports Serbia’s proposal for the ex-Yugoslav republics to organize the Non-Aligned Movement’s 50th anniversary summit. "My personal opinion of President Boris Tadic’s proposal is very positive... but because of Bosnia-Herzegovina’s peculiarities, my personal opinion is not enough for Bosnia to officially come on board. That kind of decision can only be taken by the Bosnian Presiency as a whole, through a consensus,“ Zeljko Komsic told daily Danas. B. Croat leader backs Tadic proposal He agreed with Tadic’s proposal that the former Yugoslav republics should help host the summit and appear on Non-Aligned member states’ markets together. “It would be a pity not to take advantage of the very positive mood that reigns in Non-Aligned member states towards us in general. First and foremost, I mean their slightly ‘sentimental attitude’ to everything that comes from the former Yugoslavia, particularly their regard for Tito,” said the chairman of the Bosnian Presidency. He added that Bosnia-Herzegovina would not be seeking membership of the movement, but would retain its status as an observer, as “membership of the Non-Aligned Movement and what we’re after—fully-fledged EU and NATO membership—are incompatible.“ Zeljko Komsic (Bosnian Presidency)
