Serb List (SL) leader Andrija Mandic, on hunger strike for the past five days, will not back down until Podgorica rescinds its decision to recognize Kosovo. SL spokesman Dobrilo Dedeic said that Mandic would continue his strike inside the party’s premises within the Montenegrin parliament, and would continue carrying out his political activities relating to the coalition. Serb leader continues hunger strike The parliamentary opposition has demanded the government rescind its decision on recognition of Kosovo’s unilaterally declared independence, which has been rejected. The opposition also wants a referendum to be called for citizens to express their opinion on the decision, or early parliamentary elections to be called. Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic and the ruling Democratic Party of Socialists have said that the decision on Kosovo's independence will not be revoked, that it was not made hastily, but that it was made for the benefit of Montenegro and its citizens.
