The total number of foreign employees in Montenegro has reached 83,690, 53.5 percent up on last year. According to the Montenegrin Employment Institute, the reasons for this lie in the fact that Montenegro has a deficit of workers, with demand far outweighing supply on the labor market. The regions with the largest number of foreign employees are the six major seaside municipalities, with most of them working at hotels and restaurants, while others are hired to work at construction sites or on farms.
