Officials in Podgorica say Brussels is ready to confirm Montenegro’s “road map” for reaching the so-called Schengen White List visa regime. Montenegrin Interior Minister Jusuf Kalamperovic said that he expects the document to be given to the government shortly, adding that Montenegro will be ready to fulfill all of the EU conditions. Montenegro expects EU “road map” “We are expecting that they will give us the document any day now, because its contents have to be agreed upon by all the EU countries,” Kalamperovic said, adding that the conditions “are not rigorous”. He warned however that changes within the European Commission, such as the departure of Franco Fratinni, could have an effect on continued negotiations regarding the visa regime. “Fratinni forced this question and was very intent to abolish visas for all countries of Southeastern Europe quickly. Now it remains to be seen how these changes in the EU will affect the process,” Kalamperovic said.
