Vucic says he's "everyone's president, hopefully well-liked"

Vucic was replying to reporters' questions during his visit to an army barracks in Pancevo, when he spoke about the oath-taking ceremony on Wednesday, when he assumed presidential duties.

"Yesterday only one (protest) gathering was in line with the law, and there was no fighting. The police only received reports about some criminals standing in front of the underground passage in Terazije - when the police arrived they fled. I guess it was participants in some kind of counter-rally wanting to cause unrest, but they did not succeed," he said, referring to an incident that occurred between his supporters and opponents.

Vucic also commented on media reports to say he will first discuss the new prime minister with representatives of electoral lists

As for his inauguration, planned for late June, Vucic said he hoped Croatian and Slovenian presidents would attend.

He also condemned attacks on journalists that happened during Wednesday's gatherings in Belgrade and apologized to all reporters who were insulted or assaulted.

Journalists and photo journalists of Insajder, VICE, and Danas were targeted during separate incidents yesterday.

Vucic was in the Pancevo barracks on Thursday together with US Ambassador Kyle Scott, who presented 19 Humvee vehicles, a gift of the US government to the Serbian Army.
