Nikolic: Friendship even with those we once fought against

Serbian Kingdom's soldiers fought and won this battle against Bulgarian troops.

Tanjug is reporting that the main ceremony was held inside a memorial complex on the border between Greece and the Republic of Macedonia and that Nikolic said Serbia was establishing good relations with all countries of the world.

The message we are sending from Kajmakcalan is that freedom is our permanent aspiration, Nikolic said.

"We take pride in our victories, we are not forgetting the victims sacrificed at the altar of freedom, and we see the present and the future in friendship and cooperation even with the countries we have fought against, never taking what belonged to others and always defending what was ours," Nikolic noted.

Accompanied by RS President Milorad Dodik, Nikolic on Thursday visited the Allied military cemetery of Zeitenlik in Thessaloniki, Greece.

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic on Friday laid a wreath at the Serbian military cemetery in Bitola, Republic of Macedonia, as part of the centenary commemorations of the WWI Battle of Kaymakchalan.

RS President Milorad Dodik also laid a wreath at the final resting place of 1,321 Serbian soldiers who fell in the Balkan Wars and WWI.

Serbian Defense Minister Zoran Djordjevic, the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Ljubisa Dikovic, ambassadors of former WWI Allied nations to Macedonia and representatives of the association of Serbs in Macedonia laid flowers at the memorial ossuary.

After the wreath-laying ceremony, Nikolic met with his Macedonian counterpart Gjorge Ivanov in Bitola.
