PM receives Russian ambassador, praises Minsk deal

"We have followed the course of the negotiations and we sincerely welcome the agreement reached. It is good and big news for us all," Vucic underscored.

During the meeting, the officials noted the important role of the OSCE, and Serbia, given that it is currently chairing the international organization, the Serbian government said in a statement.

Pointing to the importance of improving economic cooperation between the two countries, the Russian ambassador informed the Serbian prime minister about "important business forums that will be held in Russia this year, and stressed that the Russian side is very interested in welcoming Serbian officials and businessmen to the events."

In relation to that, Vucic "voiced confidence that Serbia will present its offer to the Russian and global market in the best way."

The meeting also addressed the strengthening of the cooperation between Serbia and Russia in the field of agriculture, car and chemical industries, the government said.

Chepurin handed Vucic a letter of greetings from Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on the occasion of Serbian Statehood Day, February 15.

Chepurin also told Vucic that he will soon receive an official invitation from the Russian prime minister to visit Moscow.
