The Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) stated on Monday that the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) should hold an urgent session on Kosovo. Spokesman Petar Petkovic said that brutal force KFOR used in northern Kosovo and Metohija should be the subject of the session. "UNSC should hold urgent session on Kosovo" Petkovic told a press conference in Belgrade on Monday that shooting at Serbs requires a serious response from Serbia, and added that the government should do everything in its power to protect its people in Kosovo and Metohija. The DSS believes that Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic made a good decision when he said that after his forthcoming visit to Brussels he would tell the people, political parties and parliament "about the results" of agreements between Belgrade and Pristina and what conditions Serbia should fulfill in order to continue its EU path, Petkovic noted. He asked whether agreements resulting from the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue so far made by head of Belgrade's negotiating team Borko Stefanovic and former president of Serbia Boris Tadic had led to the recent KFOR attack on Serbs in northern Kosovo. According to him, "now we can see the results of the disastrous EU-has-no-alternative-policy not only in Kosovo, but also in the forming of the government, when the results show their true colors and an absolute catastrophe". "We have the coalition that made up the former government and led to this catastrophic situation in Serbia, and we have representatives of that coalition who say they want to govern Serbia at all costs," Petkovic concluded. The DSS believes that Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić made a good decision when he said that after his forthcoming visit to Brussels he would tell the people, political parties and parliament "about the results" of agreements between Belgrade and Priština and what conditions Serbia should fulfill in order to continue its EU path, Petković noted.

He asked whether agreements resulting from the Belgrade-Priština dialogue so far made by head of Belgrade's negotiating team Borko Stefanović and former president of Serbia Boris Tadić had led to the recent KFOR attack on Serbs in northern Kosovo.
