Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) asked the Serbian government and parliament to react immediately to protect the High Judiciary Council. The statement also related to the State Council of Prosecutors and all holders of judiciary offices. LDP urges protection for judiciary Nobody has the right to close their eyes to the evidence that the attacks on the reform of the judiciary sector are politically motivated, LDP said. LDP has already contacted the European Commission in order to prevent some irregularities in the reform of the judiciary sector and the problem of dual offices from slowing down the already slow process of Serbia's integration in the European Union, LDP leader Cedomir Jovanovic said in a written statement. Opposition Serb Progressive Party (SNS) official Vladimir Cvijan said at a news conference on Friday that, out of more than 1,000 judges who have not been reappointed, "about 650 joined SNS".

Nobody has the right to close their eyes to the evidence that the attacks on the reform of the judiciary sector are politically motivated, LDP said.
